Hi, I’m Petra.

A storytelling photographer for families, artists + makers.

I’m drawn to people doing what they love. Not posing for the camera.

For families, that means real everyday moments. For artists and makers, it’s the process, the details, and the work taking shape.

Those are the stories I want to photograph.

Why I photograph real life

I’ve never been interested in making life look perfect for the camera. I’m much more interested in what it actually feels like.

The relationships, little habits, messy moments, creative process, and everyday details that are easy to overlook.

That’s why I photograph in a relaxed, mostly unposed way. I observe what’s happening, give you space to be yourself, and photograph the story as it naturally unfolds.

You don’t need to perform for my camera. You just need to be you.

A little about me

I grew up in Prague and now call San Diego home.

Before photography, I worked in graphic design, and I’ve always been drawn to art, visual storytelling, and the small details that tell you something about a person.

Maybe that’s why I love photographing both families and creative people. One is about the life you’re building. The other is about the work you’re creating.

Both are stories worth remembering.

When I'm not taking photos I’m probably at the beach with my family, painting with acrylics, wandering through a museum, or practicing yoga on my paddleboard.

Tell me about your story

Whether you want to remember this season of your family life or show the story behind the work you make, I’d love to hear about it.
